BID Clifton village update
BID Clifton Village is delighted to announce that it has secured a strong mandate from businesses in the Village in support of a Business Improvement District (BID). Over two-thirds of businesses who voted have voted in favour of a BID in Clifton and the delivery of its Business Proposal.
The ‘YES’ vote represents 67% of businesses voting in favour and, of those voting, this represents 70% of total rateable value in favour with a turnout of approximately 48%.
The BID will bring in excess of £400,000 of additional investment over a 5 year period for the benefit of businesses, their staff, customers and visitors.
In these challenging economic times businesses and stakeholders need to come together and work with each other to strengthen what the village has to offer. We are overjoyed that a BID mechanism will now help us to do this. For our Village to remain competitive, Clifton needs to stand out and ensure its businesses have the edge, funding through the BID will enable this to happen.
BID Clifton Village Steering Group will be working hard over the next few months to set up the BID Company Board and will recruit the BID Manager.
